Those of us who love lakes often connect them with the best memories of our childhoods.
My best childhood memories are of fishing, picnicking, and hunting Easter eggs by the small, manmade lake on the farm where I grew up.
Lake Erling, which is part of the Lafayette County Wildlife Management Area in Lafayette County, Arkansas, is operated jointly by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and the International Paper Company. Lake Erling is open to the public for fishing, water sports and picnicking, as are two other lakes in the area, Lake June and Spirit Lake.
Check out local things to do such as local golfing (Prescott Country Club, Little River Country Club and First Tee of Greater Texarkana), hiking (Kizzia Trail and Gypsum Trail).
