The Michigan Great Lakes
Lower Michigan is surrounded by five great lakes, each offering miles of beautiful shorelines. Northern Lower Michigan is home to Lake Huron, and the northern part of Lake Michigan, while the Upper Peninsula is bordered by Lake Superior. These are particularly peaceful areas because the smaller towns interspersed across this region give the entire area a quiet, almost blissful ambiance, punctuated by the sand dunes that line the coastlines in so many of areas. Cabins and campsites dot the landscape, giving vacationers the opportunity to explore the lakes on foot or by boat.

This lake that sports of a shoreline of 1,225 miles, is known for areas where groups of revelers can rent houseboats for weekends of fun and water sports. However, this is a very large lake, and there are areas that are far removed from these activities, where vacationers can rent a cabin or camp along its sunny shorelines and enjoy peaceful pontoon boat rides or just read a book along the shore.

Lake Tahoe in California and Nevada

The beauty of this destination is that you can enjoy the peace and quiet of a lake front campsite or cabin, but just a few miles away, you can experience the excitement of the casinos or an evening of dining and shopping.

Lake Colorado City, Texas
In the northwest part of the state of Texas, you will find the Lake Colorado State Park. The lake is a beautiful spot for birdwatchers and wildlife lovers to take photographs or simply sit and enjoy the surroundings.
