Lake Tahoe is a paradise for outdoors activities year round

Lake Tahoe is a vast, beautiful lake that serves as a popular vacation and resort destination for families all over the country. Lake Tahoe is a vast, beautiful lake that serves as a popular vacation and resort destination for families all over the country. It is located along the border of California and Nevada, with shorelines located in both states. The ideal feature of this lake and the areas along its shores is that there are so many amazing activities during each season, that it becomes a great place to visit no matter what part of the year it is.

Spring
In the springtime, you will find a number of festivals taking place around Lake Tahoe, like the Kirkwood Jammin' Festival that takes place every year in Kirkwood, California, along the South Lake Tahoe. This popular event includes live music, giveaways, pond swimming, and lots and lots of fun.

On the Nevada side, of course, there is a range of casino-based events, musical concerts, and festivals as well.

Both sides of the lake will be celebrating the dawning of the boating and water sports season, with area resorts opening up for the upcoming months of warm weather activities.

Summer
Summer on Lake Tahoe is everything you imagine it to be. Cabins dot the shoreline that are available to rent or to buy. Choose to come for the week, or set up a vacation home that you can return to again and again. Choose one of the many marinas to dock your boat, or rent a boat for the day or for a week. You will love your vacation full of boating, fishing, swimming, and basking in the sun.

If you are interested in getting involved in the community life of Lake Tahoe, there are sailing races, fishing derbies, and you won't want to miss the 4th of July display, touted the largest synchronized display to be found west of the Mississippi River.

Fall
Visit Lake Tahoe in the fall and enjoy a series of music festivals and performances. Many of these take place in and around the casinos on the Nevada side of the lake. October is the month of the annual Kokanee Salmon Festival, located in South Lake Tahoe, California. This is the celebration of the annual spawning run of the salmon up nearby Taylor Creek.

Winter
From November to April, Lake Tahoe offers some of the best skiing and snowboarding in the country. Usually sunny and not too cold, this area often sees storms that can spread three to five feet of fresh snow across the area in a given day.

I was in Lake Tahoe last year for skiing. Tried a few different mountains, all were great. There is plenty of snow and lots of sunshine to make your skiing experience best ever. I would recommend everyone to try it!
