Tomlinson Run Lake, WV

Tomlinson Run Lake, Tomlinson River and various ponds offer excellent fishing for bass, bluegill, catfish and trout. They’re also home to many waterfowl.

Visitors can fish from Tomlinson Run Lake's verdant shores or rent rowboats or paddleboats at its boat docks. The park also has several picnic shelters, many hiking trails and a swimming pool shaped like a figure 8. The pool has a waterslide, a snack bar and a bathhouse. A playground, a miniature golf course, horseshoe pits, and basketball and volleyball courts are nearby.

After a day of fishing and boating, there's plenty to do locally. Why not head to the races? Both thoroughbred and greyhound racing are a short drive away at Mountaineer Park Game Resort and Wheeling Downs, respectively. The Homer Laughlin China Company is also close by in Newell, WV. It features a unique china "garden", a gift shop and a factory outlet. The Stifel Fine Arts Center, Jamboree USA, Oglebay Park and the Valley Voyager Sternwheeler are additional local attractions.
