Honey Creek State Park’s Rathbun Lake in southern Iowa is just eight miles outside the city of Centerville and 85 miles from Des Moines on IA 5. The 11,000-acre lake has a hard-surface boat ramp, over 700 nearby campsites, and good fishing. Major species include channel catfish, crappie, walleye and white bass.
